Beautiful orchard in the Byford community
Sweet Springs Orchard is named for the natural springs that fill the two dams and provide water for the entire property. The orchard has been fallow for a number of years and the current owner is working with a group of chefs and scientists to harvest the natural bounty of the 80 year old property.
The orchard has been pesticide and herbicide free for 7 years and it's our goal to tend the property according to regenerative farming principles. This will be hard work but we are learning fast. We aren't just growing produce we are also transforming it. We have been practicing last year making cider and apple cider vinegar. This year we are taking it to a whole new level.
We can't do this alone. We will very soon have TONNES of produce and we are looking for creative companies in food service and retail that we can work with as we create value from the bounty of nature.
